Southwest Airlines Relaunching Flights to Cabo San Lucas

When the coronavirus first began to spread through North America, flights to Cabo San Lucas were canceled so that the city could close down. Now that Los Cabos has passed through the peak of the pandemic, businesses and resorts have been given approval to gradually reopen as they follow precautionary measures, and with new Southwest flight updates on flights and safety procedures, travelers will once again return to this stunning destination. On June 7th, Southwest Airlines flightsto Cabo San Lucas will reopen, just in time for summer vacations.

There are several Southwest international flights to Mexico, taking travelers to some of the most popular destinations: Los Cabos, Cancun, and Puerto Vallarta. While the company considered resuming international flights in May, they’ve pushed their flights to Mexico back until June to be more cautious, protecting employees, travelers, and locals. June 7th is the first of the Southwest flight release dates for flights to Mexico. The flights to Cabo San Lucas will only fly out of Houston and Denver, but with connecting Southwest Airline flights, you can have a safe flight from anywhere in the US down to Los Cabos. The later Southwest flight release dates include additional flights to Los Cabos Mexico from Phoenix. 

To ensure that travelers have a safe flight no matter where they go, Southwest is making changes to their procedures. While Southwest Airlines flights to Los Cabos Mexico have always been noted for their friendly service and cleanliness, the planes will now go through additional enhanced cleaning procedures, and with HEPA air filters on board, germs are cycled out of the cabin so that you can have a safe flight even during the current situation. One of the changes you’ll likely notice on your flights to Los Cabos Mexico is to food service. On all Southwest Airlines flights, stewards will be serving cans of water and other beverages with straws to cut down on contact between staff and travelers. Cups and ice are still available upon request.

There are only a few destinations around the world with Southwest international flights, and Cabo San Lucas is one of them. Travelers across the US were excited about these new Southwest flight updates because Los Cabos is the ultimate beach vacation destination. With a bustling nightlife, sandy stretches of shoreline, and exciting adventures, it’s the choice destination for everything from a family vacation to a spring break trip. While the city is taking precautionary measures and practicing social distancing, these new Southwest flight updates mean that you can still enjoy all the best of Los Cabos this summer. 

With safety measures in place Southwest international flights will be taking off soon, and because Cabo San Lucas is such a beloved destination, it has one of the first Southwest flight release dates.
